We offer private instruction in; electric & classical guitar, electric, upright, & piccolo bass, piano, drums, percussion, vocals, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, flute, and banjo. All instrumental and vocal classes are offered on a private, one on one, basis as the staple of the student’s education. In these sessions, the instructor will cover; reading, theory, and application of harmonic & melodic concepts through improvisation and composition.

Front Entrance

Instructors will also demonstrate various technical applications, and explore the styles of music the student expresses the most interest in. We offer half hour or full hour sessions which meet once a week at the same time each week. Full Hour lessons are suggested for all students with a mental age of ten or older. If one has the ability to maintain concentration and absorb information for a full hour, anything less than one hour per week would be a detriment to the student’s advancement and prove to be a futile attempt at progressive movement. Private sessions are not a requisite to join groups, but are suggested as the foundation of the student’s education.

Rates
Private Instruction:

30 minutes $88 for a 4 lesson month payable in advance
$110 for a 5 lesson month payable in advance

Private Instruction:

1 hour $160 for a 4 lesson month payable in advance
$200 for a 5 lesson month payable in advance

Payment
Tuition for private lessons is payable monthly, 7 days prior to the start of the month, to hold the time for the following month. We do not offer weekly payments. Your time slot will be held until the due date. We accept cash, checks made out to BSMA or Belmar School of the Musical Arts, and online payments also may be made with a credit or debit card.

Attendance
Learning an Art or Instrument requires consistent practice and instruction. We encourage all our students to attend every lesson each month. One lesson per month may be rescheduled with 24 hours notice.

Scheduling
Each of our students is assigned to a private instructor chosen to suit them, both personally and stylistically. A time slot for each student is reserved and lessons occur every week at the same time.

Materials
All books and materials will be supplied by the school and charged to the students account
